The 2008 Cordoba Patio Festival will include 64 patios, 47 of which are participating in the patio competition, divided as always into traditional and modern categories. Visitors will see the fruit of a year's hard work when the owners of these special homes open the doors to the public for the annual event from 7-18 May.

Weather this year has been good, with no late freezes or last-minute storms, which can damage the thousands of potted flowers adorning walls, windows and balconies. The City Hall has done more to promote the festival by distributing plants and compost to participants, many of whom are pensioners living in old homes in Cordoba's most traditional neighborhoods.

A list of the participating patios this year and the map of their locations will be available, as usual, on the first day of the event in tourist information points, hotels, restaurants and bars.

Entrance to the Cordoba's Patios is free, although some visitors leave small donations to help maintain Cordoba's unique urban heritage.
